“Stewardship”

Our church fellowship has recently started on a stewardship drive.  This is not solely about money, though it is a fact that the Church needs a regular and sufficient income in order to function, which is where the new Parish Giving Scheme comes in.

Stewardship involves so much more than the giving of money, and, put simply, it is the way we live our lives in response to God’s abundant love and generosity, especially in the person of Jesus, who is the sovereign provider for all creation.

Biblical stewardship is often misunderstood, so to help us learn more, we are very fortunate to have Reverend Gordon Randall, the Diocesan Stewardship Adviser, coming to preach at St. Peter’s Holy Communion service on 29th November in the Ropley Village Hall at 10:00am.  Gordon is a dynamic speaker, and will give us much to think, and pray, about.  I would encourage anyone who can come to the service to hear what Gordon has to say to us on the topic of stewardship and how it relates to us today.
