Children Enjoy November’s All-age Service in St Nicholas

This month’s All-Age service was tinged with sadness, as it was Revd. Amanda’s very last time, holding an All-Age service in St Nicholas Church.

That said, it didn’t prevent us from celebrating our King! Of course, it was all about Jesus Christ the King, but fortuitously, a narrator and three wise men from the village dressed up and gave acknowledgement and a short history lesson of King Canute and King Alfred, the past Kings that reigned over the heart of Wessex. Of Course, one of the men, with his crown of thorns dressed as Christ, and told us about Christ the King who rules over all of Creation.

IMG_4691The children, who wore crowns, and gave a fanfare by cheering, shaking instruments and rooting for our local past kings, also showed gratitude, by giving thanks to Christ the King.

IMG_4703As always Angela White provided us with some suitably themed biscuits. Crowns with Jewels, these were gratefully consumed over coffee, and Joyce and the team made doves, crowns and a crown of thorns for Christ the King.
